Our History
AWA Mechanical, Inc. is a Service / Construction based contractor specializing in mechanical, ultra-low temperature refrigeration and HVAC design and installations. We are a Minority Business Enterprise founded in 1994. Alphonso Washington, President of AWA, has over 37 years mechanical experience as a result of having worked for several of the area's largest environmental, mechanical and control contractors with Local Union 486.

Managed Tasks
Careful planning in the face of an ever-changing company workforce environments and challenges presented by unique construction requirement on projects mandates the use of a wide array of permanent company resources. AWA has developed a plan, which not only supplements staffing requirements but also extends the ability of our company to accept more opportunities. The managed task approach to a project minimizes internal growth while maximizing the talent assigned to the task. AWA accomplishes this by stepping forward to act as an invisible partner with our customer to achieve that managed task concept.

When these parameters are met, the managed task approach can be very effective. This approach allows the client staff to concentrate on their assigned duties and responsibilities while an integrated project team tackles the scope of additional unique efforts.
The team is a transparent addition to the permanent staff, -- not an entity that requires full time attention by the client staff or management team. At the completion of the project, the team is dissolved and does not contribute to a budget drain as secondary contractors can. AWA allows management to decide the level of additional support required for discreet scope tasks and AWA is willing to share risk and reward for success.
